Ihor Mazepa, co-owner of PJSC "Kryviy Rig Cement", one of the largest cement producers in
Ukraine, said that the company is going to build its own power plant in order not to depend
on power outages.
"Now we are building an independent power generation plant at Kryvyi Rih Cement. We need to
generate 24 MW of power, this will be enough for the plant to work without failures. For us,
this project will cost about $15 million. Its payback will be three to four years. This is a
necessary measure, to prevent business from stopping," he said.
Ihor Mazepa believes that investments in the energy industry can have a good return in the
long run. According to him, Kryvyi Rih Cement will build 40 MW of storage capacity in a
short period of time, which will balance the energy market.
